I remember wanting to be a policeman, a fireman, and President of the US. I actually am none of the above today.

Well, i am not really grown up yet, i am only 17, but i always whenever i was little i wanted to be a writer, always wanted to write fiction/fantasy novels, i started at a young age with a character called X samurai...it was just a small flip picture book but it just escalated untill i started writing short stories and then i finally wrote a novel at the age of 15. But now as i get ready for college i enrolled to major in history, so sadly no i do not intend to get a career in writing, but i will always keep it as one of my closest passions and never stop doing it.

Many, many things. Back then girls aspired to be nurses. It never occured to us that we could be doctors. I always wanted to be in the Navy or Marine Corps. I ALWAYS wanted to be a wife and mother. Well, I got one....I was a wife...am now a widow. I went through hell trying to get pregnant....tubal pregnacy....MANY surgeries.... I became a pre-school teacher as well as many other positions dealing with children. My BROTHER went to the United States Naval Academy and became a Marine. I am not a doctor or a nurse , but I do work in a hospital. I love it. So you see, thngs turned out differently than I had dreamed....Funny...I wouldn't trade places with anyone.

I wanted to be an airplane mechanic. yeah, talk about dreaming big. turns out nobody wants some colorblind jackass wiring up their 747's. I have a scar on my back that looks like an airplane so I thought it was meant to be. what a joke. now I just dream of the day I can get dressed without looking like an uncoordinated stoopy.

Nope ( to the actually "do it" part).
Wanted to be...a Playboy Bunny - but I was about 5 when someone asked me "what do you want to be when you grow up?"
I had NO idea about Playboy or Hugh Heffner (sp?) or the sexuality associated with the Playboy Magazine/ Empire - all I knew was there were "grown-up" girls in cute, pink, bunny costumes that got paid to do that. Couldn't have impressed me more!
Although I now know I shouldn't have announced that "desire" in front of 50 of my father's business associates at age five, I suppose!
Cheers!

I wanted to be a vet. After high school, I signed up for vet assisting class but I was too scared of bigger dogs. Oh well, now I'm doing dental assisting, as if PEOPLE'S teeth are less scary!!!

I wanted to be a criminal investigator and became one. Then I decided it wasn't worth it. This may sound strange but sometimes it's difficult to see who the real criminals. I now am in a completely different field.

I wanted to be a lawyer and no I didn't do it, cuz I hate school, too much schooling.
I went to school for music, and now at college studying hospitality services and tourism administration, going to open up my own restaurant/bar.
