Why are so many teens on yahoo answers obsessed with sex, dating, etc? Im 13 and yes I get erotic feelings towards one particular boy who I dream of marrying, but I plan to remain a virgin until the night of my wedding. Why cant teens wait until they are 16 before dating? And why cant they date without going all the way? Actually, I dont see so many obscessed teens im my school. A lot of the boys aren't interested in sex (thank god) and a lot of the girls want to get good grades and dont have any time for dating plus their parents wont let them anyway.

I completly agree with you. I have no idea why teens feel the only way to express deep love with someone during a relationship is to go all the way.

A lack of self-restraint and a high priority on acceptance rather than school, I suppose.

It's a pity more 13 year old young ladies like you don't think on the same level. More power to you! Keep that mindset and stick to your morals.

Many teens don't worry about disease. They're under the impression that 1) they're invincible, 2) the other teens they know couldn't possibly have any diseases, and 3) that the weirdest crap can keep a girl from getting pregnant and/or contracting diseases (soda douche, jumping up and down, pulling out? oy). They're in a hurry to grow up, so they use one of the only things they can. Sex. It doesn't help that most teens go through a huge rebellious phase, and that turns anyone telling them to not have sex into a lame old fogey.

Our society is obsessed with sex. Look at the magazines, and TV shows.
If you don't wear a size 3, you worry about your weight. Everyone thinks they have to have a models face to be pretty.
Peer pressure has always been a factor. For the most part, teens think they are invincible.
Last but by far not least. Teen hormones are going crazy.

I am worried, im living in the city and the area in the city with the most AIDS cases in the United States. Why, BECUASE PEOLE CANT CONTROL THEMSELVES!!!! I practiced abstenience for so many years in high school. I think that its because teens want somethig like sex but dosent think about the aftermat like being a dad/mom or getting HIV/AIDS. In my culture and religion, doing such activity is a big shame not just for the individuals but for the entre families involved as well. It will make them with they were dead. But i will live life the way its supposed to, Marry have kids and live a full life.

Put some blame on the Media, your shown scenes of sex every day in basically ever show and movie. Some teens just want to fit in, they think everyone else is doing it so they decide to do it also.

Put the rest of the blame on Peer Pressure. But not everyone is doing it like you said there are other things that more important.

The other things is teens think there immortal, they think nothing can happen to them.

Cool! I totally agree with your opinion. I encourage you to keep your curiosity about sex at bay and don't be like the others who can't wait to engage in it. It's not like obtaining a trophy for losing your virginity at an earlier age... it's rather a loss. Well, you know what's right and what's wrong already. Make the right thing work for you.

I think teen are obsessed with being popular and they don't think much of the consequences of having sex. They think as long as they have their popularity they will do anything to keep it.

beside the teen no seem to care about the diseases now days. everyone think that they got to be accepted now days when it comes down to sex. when they face reality then it is not what they want and now it happens to them they want away out of the situations. it's a time now and we all should be carefull and get regular check-ups and know their partner. it is too much of baby mamas drama, and aids out here to not want to be carefull. people only care about themselves and no one esle. so that should be enough for to understand society during these day and time..............................

It's all about hormones -- can't stop 'em, won't stop 'em. Sure, you should be careful about sex (wear a condom!) but there will be no stop to the obsession over sex. Ever. That's just the way our biology has made us over the millions of years that we have been evolving.

Most of them just don't care. You're still too young to understand these people's reasoning. I suggest you go ahead with your studies, make your parents proud, always pray, and stay safe.
