How do I get sheepskin fur soft after washing.?

I washed my rug and it looks great but the fur feels kinda dry and rough. how can i getit soft again

i can see rm the first few anwers that i need to be more specific. This is lare rug that i cleaned already. there are many fur condtioning products. i'm not the type to buy $30 fur conditioner. i used a $3 tin of mink oil on the back leather and it worked fine.

you can brush it. a dog brush will do but a fine toothed one is best.the fibers tend to cling together when they get wet.i spin wool into yarn is how i know.

Try this before rewashing. Throw plenty of Carpet Fresh ( you can get it from any one Dollar Store or cleaning store. it is very cheep)
Brush carpet gently using moderate strong brush work as circles directions, then after 20 mints brush it again working in strait as fabric's direction. leave it 15 minutes then vacuum.
If this doesn't work then rewash again using few carpet shampoo
and few water use brush to separate the fiber while using cotton cloth to get the water out then leave it in open air til complete dry. I think this will be better than using electric dryer

What did you wash it with? You could try rewashing it with human hair shampoo like VO5 and then try blow drying it while brushing it. It should come out nice and soft and have it's bounce back. Do not put it in the dryer as true sheep skin will shrink like crazy and your rug will looked deformed.
