Phones are fun. You can get an expensive camera phone.

Whatever you do don't get tracphone. I wouldn't recomend that company to my worst enemy. Several times I had to wait hours literally for Tracphones website to work properly and speak to a customer service reps.

I have a tracfone prepaid phone. I renew once a year for about $100. It subtracts 1 unit of service for each minute you talk or 2 if long distance. You can renew every 60 days or once a year if you don't it will be cancelled and you will have to get a new phone number at no charge. No monthly bills or hidden charges. It is only good if you use the phone very little because you only get about 300 units or minutes for a year. You can purchase more cards whenever you need them though.

Try Virgin Mobile. I bought phones for my children through them and it only costs .18 per minute. You will only need to add at least $20 every 90 days. They have other plans available as well.
