actually that could be a true statement as global warming is the cause of hieghtened hurricane activity it however will not affect the cycle in which there is less hurricanes, increasing more each year until it reaches its peak, 05 was the peak, now 06 will start the cycle over again

What are you smoking???

No one "accused" the president of causing hurricanes! It is believed that global warming contributes to hurricane activity, but no one said that it was the president's fault.

So unless President Bush is now a GOD as well as President of the United States, he has NOTHING to do with hurricane activity - good or bad!

What I fault him with is the response to the entire Hurricane Katrina thing. The government was very slow in reacting, and was in total reaction mode instead of being proactive. Why sit back, when the Weather Channel was telling everyone how severe the hurricane was going to be, and how devistating it WILL BE WHEN IT HITS NEW ORLEANS. The government should have been sending in people to evacuate those that could not due to economic or poor health, and should have been forcing the rest out. And they should have had stations set up outside the zone for the people to remain at until the storm passed, and then assessed the damage and gone from there. The government has been in "bail out" mode since it hit. THAT is poor management skills. And I know that Michael Brown was the head of FEMA, but he was hired by Bush. And Bush was going out and publicly stating how much of a "great job" Mr. Brown was doing. President Bush is where the buck stops. He should have shoved other things asside and took care of the matter at hand when the hurricane was coming. They knew the path it was taking long before it hit - DAYS before - and could have done something then. Instead, they let it go.

So the question is then: Would have our "wonderful" president done something more if it would have been hitting a major city that had more of a white population, and less of a poor one? Say, Charleston, SC? Or if a severe, potentially devistating storm was headed for Los Angeles. What would have been done then? I bet something more than was done for New Orleans.

So before you go praising GW for not cooking up any hurricanes this year, you need to look at things with your glasses on.

The National Hurricane Center's latest forecast for the 2006 season calls for more Atlantic hurricanes than usual, but not as many as seen over the past three years and fewer than predicted in the NHC's initial estimate in May.

Do some research before you post a question that could potentially make you look ignorant, like this one. Hurricane season does not end until the Nov. 30. There have already been several hurricanes this year. The following are all the names of the 2006 hurricanes and tropical storms up to this point:
Alberto
Beryl
Chris
Debby
Ernesto Florence
Gordon
Helene
Isaac
Joyce Kirk
Leslie
Michael
Nadine
Oscar Patty
Rafael
Sandy
Tony
Valerie
William Alpha
Beta
Gamma
Delta
Epsilon

Excuse me but you really have your facts wrong.
No one blamed Bush for the hurricane or the global warming, get with it and do some research instead of hearing just what you want to hear.
Bush was WAY to slow in getting any help to the hurricane victims, no one ever said he caused the hurricane even if his big mouth caused a lot of other problems in this world.
Also it was Bush who said that there was no global warming going on and who in their right mind would ever say something so stupid anyway? Everyone knows that there really is global warming now and it's not going away either.
I know I'll be blasted for my answer and also for telling you to learn to read and not to listen to the fools who don't listen when they hear someone talk and they only hear just what they want to hear and fill in the rest with all the BS they can think of just to start trouble for others.
Do some real research on this subject before you make a fool of yourself again by stating something so backwards as your question here.
Yeah, I'm a good Democrat and proud of it too and I also know how to read and write and don't listen to all the crap coming out of the mouths of others as you seem to do.

No, hurricane frequency is like the stock market.. Just as there can be up days in a bear market and vice versa, there can be slower years for hurricanes even though the long term trend is getting worse.

Bush got blasted for ignoring global warming, cutting the funding for the strengthening of New Orleans' Leavys, and appointing a bumbling idiot as head of FEMA. All those things mean he DESERVED to get blasted. Is there anything he's done this year that he deserves praise for? I didnt think so.

You said,

"Last year the Dems blasted our President saying he caused the hurricanes with global warming."

Since you could not possibly be that stupid, you must be lying in order to try to make a nonexistent point.

Come on, fess up, that was a totally useless thing to do, wasn't it?

I thought I'd try to communicate with you on your own level. Did I do OK?

I think that you have your facts wrong!

No body accused Bush of CAUSING a hurricane, people were upset with his "slow response" in providing assistance and emergency provisions for those people standing on roof tops and clinging to trees.

As much as Bush and the Republican party would like to think that they are God, Bush did not cause or create hurricanes

Dude, the hurricane season didn't really get started until about a week from now. Aren't you jumping the gun a little?

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

That's a good one. It sounds kind of stupid, but I do give you credits for that. I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE, I PRAISE. I don't know why I'm doing this. I do not support either parties or any stupid political parties in this country. It's all about who did what and who they should choose for their fall guy. It's all the same and they all do the same exact stupid things when they're in office. So what does it matter any way who believe in what. It's all similar to a corporate world. It's all about selfish, self center, self praise stupidity. At the end you and I whether what our belief are, we all are paying for their screwed up deal. Yeah, little guys like us who chose them to lead us thinking they will with whole heartedly supporting us the people who voted for them. That's us don't you forget about that. We chose these mo- fo's to screw us over. So if you feel bad, like I do, don't it only makes people who we believe in look like puppets -- idiot puppets.
