If you look at the small counter at the bottom of the page, you'll see a small number of unique visitors that have come in since i put the counter in, 1 month ago.
I've googled this question and submitted my blog to everything from search engines to carnivals. How do you increase your traffic (preferably) for free? Do I just need better content? or what?

Get as many sites as possible to direct link to your site. A site that has a lot of other separate sites pointing to it is what really gets Google to turn its head, and will probably list you with higher priority (ie, further up the search result list). This is just one of many aspects to increasing traffic, of course, but it's a good thing to focus on. I wouldn't know the best place to start, but perhaps it's something as simple as personally asking around, seeing if anyone will link you up. :)

People can only visit your site if they know about it. In practise this means that when they Google for "some phrase here" that your site is near the top of the search engines and then they can click to visit you.
You have to decide what "some phrase here" (or keywords/keyphrases as they are called) you are going to target and then optimize your site for them. http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php

Well one way is to post it to www.digg.com. If you have anything interesting on your site then people vote on it. As for better listings on google they have a webmaster site that tells you all you need to know.
