It is the ignorant men that feel the need to control others... usually because they were never taught NOT to be self-serving... Men will try to control others because they lack self-confidence and that is the only way they can maintain their male image...

Hi, well not all men are like that. Some more than others. They do like to take care and make us safe. When world was started that was to be a man take a woman and love her for everything and she was to do the rest. Now today it is 50/50. Men that like to control and be bossy are really not in control of anything and they see a weak point and they "men" take a shot and see how far it would fly. If he is too bossy he needs a attitude ajustment and needs to move on.

I feel most men like to be protective, but not all men are bossy and controlling. Men, like women come in all different personality types, shapes, and sizes. Men generally will behave the way they are treated. Treat your man with respect and love and he will respond in the same way. Men and women are different, like the book "Men are from Mars Women are from Venus" says. But celebrate the differences, work through the problems, and enjoy each other. There is nothing better than a truly intimate loving relationship with the right man.

Yea really, you have to find the right guy that is secure enough in himself to not need to see you as a possesion. Someone that doesn't fly off the handle bars if another guy so much as looks at you. Mild jealousy is ok as long as the guy knows how to translate it into you being the finest woman in the room. So I say find a whole new guy that is more open, more fun, and alot sweeter, but not into controlling u that way at all. But isn't too lax in is attention either.

That shouldn't be their nature because being bossy and possessive are bad elements in any relationship. It's unacceptable and no excuse for anyone, male or female .

in my case, its been the other way around. in the beginning of a relationship everything is cool. it seems after the new wears off and you start taking eachother for granted, the power struggle starts. it goes downhill from there. i wonder how many people are in relationships and actually know why they are unhappy. initially you get together for a reason, but unfortunately alot of times that is lost.
