OK, here's the deal. I went to a very good (yes, Ivy League) university & was pursuing a graduate degree. The thing is, I just hated it & I wasn't happy at all & I was so bored. I gained a lot of weight also during this time.

So, recently I have lost the weight & for the first time in a long time I feel really great. I adore clothes & anything artistic really & I would love to be a model of some kind (print, catalog, not runway because I'm far too old obviously!). I also love to travel so I would like a career that doesn't hold me to one spot.

Money wise, I own my home, car, and I don't have any bills to pay. I am by no means rich but I don't really have to work. Am I crazy for pursuing this dream?

My boyfriend is a bit of a snob & thinks someone w/ my education should do something more intellectual, but I've done that, and I had no passion for it. So...

What do you think? thank you!

Girl, you are one smart cookie. You are educated and know what is best for yourself. I think that it would be great for you to be able to pursue your dreams. Since you already own your own car and home, I don't see any problem with you doing this. I say you should follow your heart. Plus, you always have your education to fall back on. As long as you are able to take care of yourself and aren't in danger of living on skid row, then go for it! If your boy toy loves you, he will support your decision.

I think its a very bad idea.
With a graduate degree, you will be set for life.
VERY few people who set out to be models actually make it big and the ones that do only have that career for a few years. Once you get into your 30's your out.

You should at least try. There is nothing worse then growing old and having nothing to say but I wih I had, I could have done. It is always better to try you can alway go back to school. You have already got an educational start to fall back on.

You tried it, you don't like it so you'd be wasting your time and the school's time to stay. Let someone else take your place--maybe in a few years you'll really want to study something and be able to put all your effort into it because you love it then!

Find another school that you enjoy attending, and no you are not an idiot but you should get your degree, and you can still model but always get your paper especially if you have gone that far...... don't end up being an idiot because you wished you had finished in years to come............. But its your life..........

No, it's seriously hard to realise it yourself but it's essential to follow your dream, no matter how silly you think it is. Sure, you're probably going to get critisism, but you'll find that the people that are are the ones NOT following *their* dream!
You seem independent and confident in yourself and you know whats best for yourself. I say follow your dream!

You won't benefit from graduate school if you don't want to be
there. Best of luck in your modeling career. Don't worry about
your boyfriend, he'll come through for you.

i think that you should really follow your heart and what would make you happy but sometimes you also have to think of what would be better for you if i were you i would try to do both.
