OK, here's the deal. I went to a very good (yes, Ivy League) university & was pursuing a graduate degree. The thing is, I just hated it & I wasn't happy at all & I was so bored. I gained a lot of weight also during this time.
So, recently I have lost the weight & for the first time in a long time I feel really great. I adore clothes & anything artistic really & I would love to be a model of some kind (print, catalog, not runway because I'm far too old obviously!). I also love to travel so I would like a career that doesn't hold me to one spot.
Money wise, I own my home, car, and I don't have any bills to pay. I am by no means rich but I don't really have to work. Am I crazy for pursuing this dream?
My boyfriend is a bit of a snob & thinks someone w/ my education should do something more intellectual, but I've done that, and I had no passion for it. So...
What do you think? thank you!

Hey. It's not too late to go back. If you really want something, pursue it! Follow your heart and do not let others interfere with what you believe in!

Well if you are thinking about modeling you wouldnt fit in graduate school very well for only a certan type of person goes that far in thier education. If you dont have to work, its better to see the world, than be around graduate students all day. YOu say your into cloths and artistic stuff, well graduate students are into being fat and crappy cloths. These of coarse are just true steroetypes. Its all about passion, there is nothing worse than being bored for only but once will you live this life.

Life is an odd journey, who can say what is right for you, except you. It is always a good idea to have an education on your resume. An education can be gained anytime you think you might want to finish it. Modeling has a short life for most women.
I envy the passion you have! I have never felt passionate about earning a living, and I have tried many things. I think if I had a passion I would follow it!
Best of luck!

Go for it. You're a smart girl obviously and know what you want. Why do something that makes you miserable? If someone loved working at McDonalds but hated being a doctor then they should do what they love and drop what they hate. Your emotional health is way more important than staying somewhere because it's a sure thing. Take a risk. College will always be there, but who knows what you can do modeling if you don't try.

So what will happen, God forbid, you were to be in a car accident and become a bit disfigured and scarred to the point of not ever being a model but can still find a job?
Dont be stupid.... stay in school and get a good job and stay with that job until you can get more money and retire early or buy more houses
Modeling is not for you.... you are too old and you may become fatter again.
A career is what is needed that can last and your face may not last... ok?
School may be boring but it wont last forever will it?

So few people have the guts to truly pursue their dreams. If you were miserable in school, and had no desire to continue then you were smart (and brave) to make the change. I don't know if modeling will come to anything for you, but at least you can say you tried. And, you can always go back to school.

Why waste money and time sitting in a classroom you don't want to be in! I'd say pursue modeling and if it's not for you, then you always have a bachelor's degree to fall back on.

I don't think you're an idiot at all. we only have one life and as long as you're not hurting anyone in the society you can realize your dreams. If you're happy and find a way to breakthrough so good for you. I will pray so that you'll be happier.
peace

finish the program for many reasons, then once you receive your advanced degree - go for it!!! Once the degree is done, you can do any number of things but if they don't work out, you have the degree to fall back on.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
