Do more people think of it as a freakish cult or do more people think of it as a good think since Tom jumped on the couch and the South Park thing came out? How is this effecting membership levels?

I do not believe this stuff. I think it is a cult. It is anti mental healt and I hate it. I am just interested in the cult part of it and if people are safe.

Medication saves lives for the mentally ill and I am upset because I think the misinformation that Tom puts out has probably killed some people and will lead to future deaths because people need medication and mental heath care. Inculding him. I do not dislike him for being mentally ill. I just think he needs treatment. If he does not want that it is his decision just do not prevent others from getting it. Shut up I would say.

Yeah "celebrity center" I saw that on the Elvis special what is with that. I guess they pay their money for that eletist thing. It is not a church. That is why I put the questions under mythology and folklore or celebrities or TV or culture instead of religion now. Is there a cult section? I also put them under psychology sometimes not religion. I put them other places depending on the question.

I can't really say but one thing that pisses me off is the fact that if any other religion had a "Celebrity Center", we would throw f.u.c.k.ing fits!! How self serving is it that celebrities who practice this so-called 'religion' have a separate building all for themselves with which they and their families can use so they aren't "hounded" by the paparazzi!? It's rediculous and completely eliminates any credibility on its part. L.Ron Hubbard must really enjoy the contributions to his "religion" from all these celebrities hey. And you can't just found a religion...as if. Does anyone know anything about scientology? It puts the emphasis of a diety back into yourself...as in you don't rely on anyone except yourself...whatever happens to you in this life is a result of your own decisions. Which can be said about most things ok. But the idea of RELIGION is that one believes in something higher than him/herself...believes that there's something mroe to this earth and places his/her faith in that 'being.' Therefor, scientology is NOT A RELIGION. It's is a book. It's a set of rules. It's whatever...but it's not a religion. And the fact that people like Tom Cruise endorse such a...a...a thing...makes no difference whatsoever. Not to me at least. It's a mockery of religion is what it is. Like i said, you can't just found a religion. Like 'oh hey i think hilary duff is god, let's make a religion worshipping her' (Sorry charlotte, i thought it was funny ;))

good luck to him and any other people who are self serving enough to put their faith in themselves and man as a whole.

I know that more and more people are joining this religion and me personally I think South Park did a great job making fun of such a dumb religion. I can't understand and if you or anyone else believes this then I don't mean to rain on your parade but I think it is really just a freakish cult. And by the Tom Cruise sucks.

No, the Anonynmi have were given Scientology good. it truly is a cult, and should be torn down and eradicated. The Co$ makes use of Tom as a recruiting device, so don't be shocked if he does inspire people to hitch.

I am, thinking that Tom Cruise is bad for membership don't you? What's up with their kid? Did the ultrasound make the baby into a hybrid or what? SuperSuri

government tallies indicate that Scientology membership has been steadily declining since it's founder went to the magma god in the center of the earth.
