History began when the first person asked: Do you remember when...? That was anywhere from hundreds of thousands to millions of years ago...Written history in the West began around 2500 years ago. The history of the US began when the first British settlers arrived in the "New" world.
9/11 was just another event in the history of the US and world. History certainly didn't begin or end then.

Of course not, but it will stand as a milestone, a day everyone who was alive and aware at the time will remember -- how they heard about it, what they felt, the TV images played over and over. For my generation, the assassination of John F. Kennedy was that sort of event. For my parents' generation, the bombing of Pearl Harbor was unforgettably seared in their memories. But the time will come when there will be young people growing into adulthood who have no memory of 9/11, and who will not feel about it as we do.

what is impressed in our mind as 9/11 means that mass media worked very well.
On september 2001, two towers collapsed hit by two planes driven by whom we don't know. about 3000 casualties.

Politics decided to bomb Afghanistan and Iraq and maybe in future Iran.
