Do the rest of the electrical things work, such as the headlights, the dome lights, and the windshield wipers? If not, then check the positive battery cable. Do a continuity test with an OHM meter. Same on the negative cable. Also make sure the end of the negative cable is well grounded and that the cable ends are good at the battery. If you have a bad cable you won't get any power draw. You may have to replace the cables to be sure. If the electric systems do work, check the fuses.

My guess it's the solenoid - the good news is that you can just whack on it (not too hard) and probably get it to start. it's a cyllindrical tube that you have to crawl under the car to see.
