I climbed up in a huge oak tree today and watched rain move across a lake. It was very refreshing and uplifting. I am in my 40's.

It was 1993 and I am 48 years old now.
I was climbing up into the willow in my back yard. Oh what a view.
Upon decent, my foot got stuck and I was about 6 feet from the ground. Not a very long fall, if you can fall.
My foot was so badly bruise by the time I got it out of there that I quit climbing trees altogether.
A few years later, a huge wind storm went threw town.
Upon arriving home, I found on of this trees massive trunk in my back yard, it almost landed on the house.
We took a measuring tape out to the tree and measured the fallen trunk, it was almost 2 1/2 wide. It was 1 of 3 from a base that was over 9 feet wide.
This old tree is still standing tall and proud with a smaller trunk growing to replace the one it lost.
It is still, a beautiful tree.

Oh, I probably haven't climbed a tree since I was 14 and living in South Dakota! We had the most fabulous willow tree and it was really easy to climb! I miss that tree!

I'm 25 now and I miss climbing trees. :(

*laughing* what a cute question. Must be 40+ years ago, I'm 55. But there is THE greatest "tree climbing tree" outside my balcony! I would just have to be a whole lot smaller and more agile to do anything about it!

it's been many years since I climbed a tree, climbed the pole to the top of the swings, hung from the monkey bars and shimmed up the pole to the slide at the playground. I'd love to try it again sometime.

When I was a school teacher, around 1994. The kids lodged a football in a tree on the playground. I cheated... I used a ladder!

I was about 17 and it was a 60 foot oak in northern Arkansas. My brothers and I could get almost all the way to the top. I am now 36.
