Well... yes, it is a bit of that...
but I think it makes it all the better. The over-dramatization gives more emphasis to the situations in the shows... It gives more emotion, makes the show a bit more powerful... It's a lot of drama, surely, but the drama gives it so much more meaning...
In regards to over-dramatization... I'm thinking you're either referring to the season 5 bombing or the season 1 bashing... With situations as serious as those, a little more drama isn't over-dramatization... we just sometimes believe the situation is being blown out of proportion just because it doesn't happen too often. Personally, I think the series is pretty realistic... it delves into emotions that other shows do not even dare to attempt to do. It seems like just sex at first, but the underlying feelings... the characters being so much more...complex. The love that is denied, the angst... It's wonderful. The UK version is okay to me... but it doesn't make me cry as much as the US version. Perhaps it's because the US version makes the situations and issues seem like a bigger deal than they really are... but even so, it works. Watching QaF US has been... so moving. It's the drama that I cry the most, laugh the hardest, feel the greatest emotions for.
But that's just me. If you watch only the first few episodes, yeah, it is a rip-off of the UK version. But towards the end of season 1, all the way through season 5... the show hooks you in and does not let you forget the characters and their problems. The characters evolve so much... in Season 5 especially.
So hopefully you'll watch the whole QaF US through season 5 before making judgements.
But that's just my personal opinion. And maybe I'm a bit biased because I love Justin and Brian more than Nathan and Stuart... lol.

What makes something stated as something. someone got here up with a popularity for people and now we together call ourselves people (so a ways as English is worried). How are we diverse from different issues? we seem diverse, we've diverse genes, we've diverse applications, and some would say we received the breath of existence from God. What makes us human contained in the jap way of questioning? A human that conforms to the societal norms. Even the bible says you're a beast in case you supply your self as a lot as sin.

Yes, but this is so often the case when people try and copy something that has good original qualities. The people copying so rarely understand enough about the original artist's vision. It's a bit insulting really. Film remakes and cover songs are kinda pointless.

Its a spin off of a good show,i don't feel its overly dramatized, because things for gays are different in different countries.I'm not gay so I wont judge it as being so. I enjoyed both but have moved on to better shows, just as life evolves so must TV or be considered stagnant and not up to date. Both good interesting programs.
