Simple, they want to live their dreams through them.

They have unresolved issues. It may be that they wanted to be famous as youngsters and now are trying to live vicariously through their children. It's sad really when children can't grow up normally. That much parental pressure can't be good for a kids psyche.

So that their children can be famous and their parents will be expecting some money from them, even though the parents will hardly be noticed, they could always brag to their co-workers (if they go to work)

most of the time the stuff the parents are forcing their children to do was their infulfilled childhood dream so they're trying to re-live their glory days through their children.

THE PARENTS PROBABLY DIDN'T HAVE THE CHANCE TO BE FAMOUS WHEN THEY WERE KIDS, SO THEY WANT TO HAVE THERE KIDS EXPERIANCE THE FAME OF BEING A STAR.

I DO FIND IT TO BE WRONG IN SOME WAYS, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HEAR ABOUT THE JONBENET RAMSEY STORY.

I ALSO THINK PARENTS WANT TO BE ON THE SELFISH SIDE AND WANT TO HAVE THE MONEY.

Personally, I feel parents (like mine!) who have not enjoyed all the sucess they would have liked to in life look towards their kids as another chance at the high life.
