Well.

f(x+1) = 3*(x+1)+2 = 3x+3+2 = 3x+5

You get it.

ARE YOU PEOPLE MORONS. SEE CORINNA"S ANSWER.

WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SAYING BOOYA AND GIVE ME TWO POINTS LIKE YOU HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

You cannot solve for f or x unless you have a complete second equation.

If I had f(x+1) = 7 or something like that, then I could solve for both variables.

In as much as I don't have enough information this is a meaningless question.

If you are just working with variables generally here is the answer.

ANSWER PEOPLE!!!! HERE IS THE ANSWER!!!!

f(x) = 3x + 2
f = (3x + 2) / x
f = ( 3x / x ) + ( 2 / x )
f = 3 + 2 / x

f ( x + 1 )? Substitute your solution for f in terms of x.

( 3 + 2 / x ) ( x + 1 )
3x + 3 + ( 2 / x ) ( x ) + 2 / x
3x + 3 + 2 + 2 / x
3x + 5 + 2/x

f(x+1) = 3 x + 2 / x + 5

f(x)=3x+2
and f(x+1)=3(x+1)+2
=3x+3+2
=3x+5

in "3x+2", replace "x" with "(x+1)"

f(x) = 3x+2

f(x+1) = 3(x+1)+2

= 3x+3+2

= 3x+5
