War is basically aggression and self defense played out on a global scale. It is no different than the school yard bully trying to steal some kids lunch money and the victim trying to protect himself from aggressive acts. You may choose one side over another or believe one side to be just and the other to be unjust.
However war is essentially the same as any other type of conflict only on a grand scale.

Until homo stupidicus learns to think rather than feel we are doomed to agressive acts requiring physical force as self defense.

Hell no.

While wars have brought technology forward for everyone else after the fact, the cost in terms of economical drain, lives lost and general population fatigue is just too great.

Being a soldier myself, I know it's unrealisitic but I sure wouldn't mind being handed my release papers reading "Services no longer required due to world at peace".

Yes. It keeps the chickenhawk cowards from waging war on their own citizens.

It's not perfect, mind you. The chickenhawk neo-cons have jailed more people per capita in this country than any other country in the world.

But it still beats all-out war on us.

There should not be any war, ideally. In today's society, when one group of people tries to destroy another group of people, and when one group does not respect their different ideas about religion and their society, then it is very hard to keep war from happening.

Yes. The bible even says that sometimes war is necessary. If God opened your eyes for one minute, you would see all of the angels fighting demons and all of the spiritual warfare going on.

All that is requied for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. For there to be peace, all sides must want it. In this world there are many who do not want peace, they only want the total destruction of their perceived enemies.

Thus war is necessary.
