Is she a tall 9 year old? Is she big boned? Did she start her periods early? She may not need to lose weight, you should not try to help her lose wieght without her consulting with a doctor first. As for exercise, you can encourage her to take up sports, joint an atheltics club or take her swimming. Take care : )

You can not do nothing to help her. This is because the only way she drop a couple pounds is to stop eating and start exercising alittle. For example i wighted 195 pounds.i was over weight so i started to stop eating alot and in the night and started exercising more and now look i weigh 125 pounds.
p.s also she needs to stop eating sweets.

Don't worry... just make her do sit ups and running oh and tell her to go on a do-a-ble diet. She is just a kid so don't expect to get her into the GYM. I don't think she needs it. And plus here, in America lots of kids weight a lot more than they should=)

Sit down & talk to her & tell her that it isn't healthy & that it could hurt her later on. Help her with exercise and a diet. That's the least you can do. The parents should also be watching what she eats.

She isn't fat. Why are you concerned? Most American children are now slightly overweight, there is little you can do about it. If you tell her she is fat and make a big deal over it, it will hurt her self esteem, and she may carry that hurt for a long time. Leave the kid alone.

ok number one: do you from urself wanna help her or has she asked for your help. trying to help her when she hasnt hinted she wants help might ruin your relationship with her. but if she has asked become jogging partners! its good for both of you. maybe both of you could go on a diet and support each other. that way she will feel like someone else will go through the same thing. good luck.

Has she consulted a physician? Seems like it's child obesity. Make sure she doesn't eat fattening foods. It's gonna be a big problem later.

hmmmm...well i wouldnt worry about it cus she is not even a teen yet. u dont want to give her a complex, so if anything maybe talk to her mommy...that is up to her to decide. because u are not a professional it could backfire and u could end up doing more damge than help...just be careful...wieght issues can become very touchy situations! : )

just have her watch what she eats.. she can still workout though.. maybe walk or even run, something aerobic.. it may also be a health thing too or genetic where she'll just be big. but her diet would help alot too.. too many carbs and not enough exercise will do that.
