There is a way to chek if time travel is possible. It's simple. Lets say you wanted to chek if time travel or at least if you in the future will the have the opportunity to time travel. Simply say to your self, that in the future when I'm 100 or so I will take a time machine and travel back, to this day,to this exact time, and year, and use a telephone to call my house just as soon as I finish writing this sentence on August 20th,2006. If you get a call phone call from your self then there its possible! If not, then :-( What do you think could that work?

Yes you can! I just did it and got a phone call from my self. You won't believe it. Apparently I'm the president of a Forbes 500 company. I'm one of the richest people in the world, and I own a planet and a moon in the Solar System. The earth is full of Chinese and Indians and theres very little space. There are sky scrapers everywhere and very little fresh land. United States has divided, literally. California has split from the rest of the USA, it's just floating out there. North Korea tried to atom bomb Japan, but the bomb didnt work because apparently the North Koreans didn't read the Best Before date. Thanks MalikB for your usefull time travel trick. Take Care, I got to go make plans for the future.

You cannot do an action and be recipient of that action too.
It may be possible in future to travel back in time, but it might be just as a witness to the actions already done; and not to perform new actions. The back in time will not give you an opportunity to rectify your wrong doings and provide you with benefits of your then corrected actions. New actions can only be done in the time the entire universe is present and you are in some form of life, like an animal or human being.
Similarly, you may be able to travel in future and witness what events are likely to happen, but you will not have control over them to change them.
Each action is a result of so many millions of causes. The man has only a very limited choice at any given moment of time about his actions.

Of course it could. But the fact that it doesn't happen does not disprove time travel, since you could have died before being able to make the call, the world could have come to an end, or any number other disasters could have prevented the call.
Rather than one call, the problem is, if time travel is possible, where are all the travelers?

What if you get the phone call, and then you can't figure out how to make a time machine? If you get the call, you somehow "know" that you will invent such a machine and go back and call your former self. But what if you decide not to make the machine? You get a contradiction.
This tells me that time travel is impossible.

That doesn't even make sense. When you are 100 and time travel back into time to this day, you would be here on this day and not at your house to receive the call.

I went out to make the call to my house but nobody answered it !
I wasn't there. The call got recorded. I don't think time travel will be ever possible!

Your assuming that I/we will want to spend our last breaths on this planet checking Yahoo answers. If I call myself when I'm 100 yr old, then I'll tell myself to get out and enjoy my last few minutes I have left!

yeah i guess it'd work.. but then again if you had say a baby do the same thing.. it might work for them and not you because you'd be dead.. but then again a baby couldn't call another baby on the phone.. but then they wouldn't be a baby if they came back in time.. hmm..it might work for someone your age in say 10 years or something like that..
