I guessing you are the "he or she". I learned over the years to not confront irritating people because usually they only get more irritating.
If I can I remove myself from the situation, that's currently working best for me. I believe its very important that, depending on the circumstances, irritating people not know that they are irritating you.
Depending on the person's demeanor you may also consider mentioning to them what's irritating you about them. They may not even realize what they've been doing and just... stop.

I read this bizarre book called "The Power of Now", written by this dude turned buddhist monk, and he says that the people who irritate you are the most wonderful gift, because\
1) Those things that irritate you are the qualities you despise on your own self, and you have the same qualities.
2) The more you understand where that comes from, the stronger you get, developing a thick skin.
3) It helps you deal with irritating people and situations better, because let me tell ya, it doesn't stop there! Your whole life will be full of those characters.
But of course, in reality it's a total pain; I get irritated all the time with my family, but I feel that what irritates me has really changed in several years. Some things don't irritate me anymore, especially little things. Now other, bigger things irritate me, but it's more evolved. I guess just sit back and formulate the answer in your head "WHY is this irritating me"? Try to honestly come up with an answer, and you may find a surprise.

Everybody do experience that situation, for me, I will let my mind rule over my emotion of irritation. I will act professionally and feel confident so that no one will feel also same to me. Just be yourself! But sometimes, it's good to pretend if you really cant rule your emotions.

Excuse urself from the situation. U can't control what others do or say. You can only modify ur behavior. Change the people U surround urself with.

Surround yourself with people who don't irritate you. Or learn how to tolerate them.

If the situation allows, SMILE and politely excused yourself from the setting. If not, guess you'll have to keep the smile, keep a deaf ear and put up with it!

take it as a challenge, think its happening to a third person, watch it as if you are not involved. and decide and direct how you should react or shouldnot. its easy said. but this will make you take the right actions and reactions. good luck.

It;s better to just space out and not pay attention to what they're doing. If you flip out and yell, you may look psycho, so just think about something else when that happens.
