On line friends are not REAL friends, they are cyber friends. You are young and should fill your life with friends that go to the movies, have fun, bike, picnic, hang out at the mall, etc. even date. But not online. You don't know if I am nice or a pervert..........see, that is why you don't need online friends. But I am nice, but how do you know for sure. Stick to your real friends and if you don't have any, make some. I am sure you are a wonderful young person, full of life. Online isn't really real. Start answering some of the questions on here for teens and help some other kids. Stay safe.

Trust me, you're better off with real friends and I've got to give props to your dad for not letting you chat online yet. In a few years time, when you can watch R rated movies, rent something called 'Hard Candy' and you'll get to see exactly why your Dad says no.

Your dad is right. Why not give out ur yahoo ID to your real friends then you'll have people to chat with online!

Obviously your dad is a good father. There are alot of freaks online that you are too young to have to deal with. I don't have any online friends either, who needs them? Get some real friends, that are your own age.

my whole family don't me to have email buddies or go on chat lines. im 13 too by the way. your lucky that you can have online friends. But not me. : ( oh well,lol
