You have to weed out the bad and get with the good. Most songs played on commercial radio are wack. That is what most people hear, so they write off rap before digging below the surface. For good hip-hop, listen to Little Brother, J-Live, De La Soul, Jurassic 5, The Roots, Pete Rock, Gangstarr, Binary Star, and a lot of old school and underground rappers.
