I was in the student center at the military college I attended at the time. It was picture day and I was wearing a grey flannel dress. I had gone to the snack bar in the student center to wait for my roommate, when one of the cadets ran in a said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center in New York. I remember thinking that is was a joke. We all ran into the bookstore because they had a tv in there that they left on the news all the time. The bookstore was so crowded that people had started to gather around the big screen tv upstairs in the game room. I remember sitting in the floor right in front of the tv, shocked at what I saw. I saw the second plane hit and felt like I was go to throw up. I was afraid that I would be late for class so I started to leave right as the first tower collapsed and ended up staying until the second tower had collapsed. I don't even remember the coverage of the Pentagon or flight 93; I was almost in a trance. It all seemed so unreal. Being a military school, several reservists were called away in the middle of the night and they were not allowed to say where they were going for fear of more terror attacks. It was awful. The whole campus was so solemn, obviously fearful that more of our boys would be called away for who knows how long. I know that I saw it all from almost the beginning to the end, but I can't remember the details of the newscasts other than the collapsing of the towers. That image will forever be burned in my mind.

My husband had woken up early that morning sick. So he called in to work and then came back to bed. I slept a little late since he was sleeping too, and my mother called and woke me up. She freaks over the littlest things, and she sounded like she was about to have a stroke that morning. She said, "Are you watching?" I said, "Watching what?" She said, " The World Trade Center towers have both been bombed, the Pentagon has been bombed, there's a bomb in some sort of building of the state department, the white house and the capital have both been evacuated and there are more planes coming." About half of her info was wrong of course. I ran and woke my husband and turned the TV on. I was looking for CNN but every single channel I passed was showing the same thing. We watched it for hours. I remember seeing the first building fall and then about 20 minutes later saying, "That next one is about to go too." Then it happened about 5 minutes later. I had to go pick up my husband's paycheck for him, and for the first time ever his workplace had a TV. It was a little 12 inch one. No one was doing much of anything, just sitting and watching the TV. Later that day we went to the bank. I remember thinking a bank might not be the best place to be. Now I realize that no one would want to attack a tiny bank in Mississippi, but that day anything seemed possible.
A week later I found out I was pregnant with our third child, and that made it all even scarier. Just knowing that I was bringing a child into the world at that point in time..............

I was in the shower and heard on the radio a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. While I was in the shower they reported another plane had hit the other tower. I rushed out of the shower to go turn on the TV and I work my roommate up. I watched both towers go down on TV before leaving for school.

I had gotten home from work (as a paramedic) about a 1/2 hour earlier, and I was watching a show on the History channel about the Battle of the Bulge (WW II) waiting for the baby to get up. My mom called and asked what I was watching I said "a show about WW II" she said "well turn on the news and see the begining of WW III". After watching for just a few minutes I woke up the baby, called my wife at work, and I just sat there the rest of the day with every TV on in the house, and the baby on my lap. She was about 2 at the time and I did'nt want to let her go. I had one in school at the time and debated about going to get her (I didn't). It was just a day I'll never forget.

I was at work in Markham Ontario, a town just North of Toronto trying to do my job. My wife called me on my cellphone & said some planes had crashed into a tall building in Manhattan, & that they were speculating it was terrorism. My 1st thought was that it was all some weird mistake, but somehow someone brought in a TV in to where we were working & we all stood around in disbelief & watched as the World Trade Centre Towers collapsed.

I was watching the TV, the news where it was saying that a plane had hit the towers. Then went I saw the other plane coming around the other side, I gasp! The TV reporters that were relaying the news did the same. Then I went to pick up my daughter from school because I thought they were going to attack the military base that is behind the school. Then I went into depression..................................

Like most of the West Coast, I was getting out of bed, not believing what I was seeing on tv.
I called my mom and my sister, just to reassure each other that we were all right.
I was off work that day, but rang the sup desk at my public-service day job. Everything was under control and the schedule was clear, so I went to the Red Cross to donate blood.
Boy, was there a long line.

I was sitting on the couch with my two daughters watching cartoons when my husband called from work hysterical telling me to turn on the news.
I put my daughters in the bedroom and turned the cartoon on.
Then I went back to the living room and cried and prayed as I watched the second plane hit the tower.

We were shopping at Wal-Mart and they broke into their Wal-Mart radio to put on ABC news. Everybody was so shocked that we all stood still for what seemed to be forever; finally, when I resumed shopping, I was on "auto pilot" and actually cried a few times. I have never been so scared and horrified in my life. The rest of the day, I stayed tuned into the TV and watched with the rest of the US as the story unfolded. God forbid we have another day like that.
