I have been to Italy twice in the last year. It is amazing. My parents have travelled extensively throughout Europe and loved it. My sisters have also travelled abroad. More Americans should travel to other countries to appreciate not only our own culture and lifestyle but those of the rest of the world.

Many years ago, while in the Army, I spent over two years in Germany. While there I visited a number of interesting locations in Deutschland, including Frankfurt, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Trier, Bad Kreuznach, Munich and Berchtesgarden.

I took leaves to Paris, Strasbourg and London, from which last I traveled to Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Stonehenge.

Later, after being discharged from the USArmy, returning home and marrying, I moved with my bride to Dallas, Texas and from there visited Nuevo Laredo in Mexico.

Travel is always educational. It is great fun to see other places where people's lives are different. I particularly like the great cities. With luck, maybe I'll have a chance to see Tokyo one day.

Not enough.

I read somewhere that only 25% of Americans leave the US in their lifetimes, and only 25% have ever applied for passports.

That explains why so many Americans are ignorant of other countries, and why it is so easy for Fox and those other networks to brainwash them into thinking that all non-Americans hated them and wanted to kill them. (As is non-Americans didn't have other things to do in their lives.)

The worst thing is that most Americans do not speak any other foreign languages, which means that they really cannot speak to non-Americans in another language, which contributes to American ignorance.
