yes a brand new range rover in 2003 and a week before that ordered a brand new turbo porsche cabriolet from ohio that cost 15k at dmv to register!!!! all cash no finance both. perhaps i will also tell you that i longer own either one and drive a damned acura tl 4 dr sedan which is about 3/4 paid for. the acura is a fine auto and all but i miss the off road handling i felt in the rover it was sweet sweet sweet and this acura is NOT working for me even tho it is a fine fine auto and all - the front wheeel drive i guess it is tho on it is downright dangerous feeling after driving the rover which handled so predictably - a good thing when it comes to driving a car as well as a good thing to be predictable in lots of other areas of life, by the way. the navigation and lots of other tech features in this car are better than the rover but my guess is that the new rovers are well really stupid for me to be thinking about at all at this point so i will shut up - you did not ask for all this did you? anyway, for cheaper ins rates not financing is good and also for not draining your hard earned money unnecessarily it is great to not finance a car but if you want to build better credit then on time payment financing is helpful. lease a car and you can write most of it off as a business expense if you do it right - maybe you have to have your own business tho - owning own business is all i know - also if you have home based business such as a hedge fund, for example, that you run outta part of your household ( not necessarily a good idea ) you can rent and write off most of the cost of renting as business too ...blah blah - how was all that for an answer? you like or no appreciate extra info?

Yes, most of my vehicles have been cash deals or private pay schedule. Only one vehicle ever financed out of maybe 30.

One day I will... I hope to pay off my current car loan early, then keep it for at least three more years. By then I hope to have enough cash and trade value to finance very little if any of my next car.

No. But I have saved $20,000 to pay cash for my next car. So that I won't have a car note. I've had my current car for 10 yrs and plan on keeping it for probably another 2-3 yrs before getting another one.
