Tell you what, stop sending the military, stop dropping bombs, get out of other countries etc. I agree. Although you could send aid to places like Louisiana, or spend some of alllllllll that money providing health care for Americans. Charity begins at home. Boy, Katrina was a real eye opener. There is coexisting in the US a 3rd world conditions in the most decadent country in the world. And if you don't think that isn't a good start for a major blowup, think again.

Giving money to corrupt or antagonistic governments is a bad policy. However, these government leaders treat their own people badly by using the country's wealth for their gain while the populus starves and dies of disease. Its akin to giving money to the guy panhandling in front of the local Wal-Mart, while he is smoking cigarettes and has a dog with him. When we sent relief items to Somalia, the rebels seized it to sustain the fight against the U.S. instead of giving it to a starving population. I believe the US should change its policy of not assinating political leaders and start executing any that stand in our way. Letting Sadam live after the 1991 conflict was a total disaster. If we declare war on another country we should sustain an intense fight against the leaders till all have been permanently eliminated. If the UN disagrees, we go ahead and do what need to to prevail.
the rest of the world hates us anyway, what difference does it make what they think. We are the strongest, and should have what we want and need.

Absolutely not! They dont appreciate in the end to begin with! Its time to close up the boarders and get the good old USA back on its feet! Stop this infernal **** kissin of other countries just to stay on their good side! We are still at the top but it seems we are slowly slidin downhill! Boot these greedy money mongers who outsource our jobs! We are one of the very few countries that can sustain ourselves! WE DO NOT NEED FOREIGN TRADE! Its also time for the greedy autoworkers and others who think they deserve 25 plus bucks an hour for snappin windshield wiper blades on cars! Lastly, if the schmucks who farmed our jobs out dont like it, they can sell their products to the rest of the world and we will see how their profits make out! It seems that they have forgotten who buys from them!

Yeah, let's stop with the handouts.

And let's forget about all that Christianity stuff. It's no good anyway.

We have Angus Steak Burgers and SUV's. Why should we give a damn about all those starving kids in Africa? And if those fools in the Middle East keep blowing up their own burger joints and car dealerships, it's their tough luck they don't have what we do.

Oh, and don't forget to vote Republican.

Go to a course in advanced economics at any reputable University, developed countries don't really "help" other countries, it's all part of the same economic cycle. Don't believe it?....yea, guess you wont, judging from the answers I've read.

Of course we should help other countries. How else do we develop relationships and expand our network of influence? It may not always yield the results expected but in the long term it is the right thing to do.

our foreign aid goes strictly to countries we wish to control - israel and egypt get the vast majority of our aid. for humanitarian giving, compared to other countries on a GDP basis, we give much less than other countries.

you know, if we just stopped overthrowing democratically elected governments, that'd probably help a lot more than any money we could give. let's try that.

(What democratically elected govts have we overthrown? Iran, Chile, Nicaragua, Yukaton, countless native american tribes, Panama for starters.)

Soil has little "feeling" it's the people that resent US and with the press as biased as they are I'm sure just like US the feelings are relative to the impact we've made on the individuals themselves.Hopefully the impact wasn't a crater where their house use to be.
