As a rule of thumb… We feel the Tooth Fairy should reward children a little more based on the whiteness of the tooth. Size also is important. A big tooth should be worth more money than a small tooth. Younger teeth are worth much more money than older teeth. Last but not least, the first tooth is worth the most, although, as those baby teeth loosen, they come out like picking grapes. So it is understood that quantity discounts are always applicable.

The first tooth is usually one of the front teeth. Here in the Midwest they go for a quarter, but I understand the rates may be higher on the East and West Coast.
You will really have to ask the Molarnator

i know that tooth fairy rates have gone up alot since i was a kid. i only use to get twenty five cents or a fifty cent piece. when my son loses his teeth we give him like five dollars and some loose change. a few months ago when my son was at school he had a loose tooth and he had banged his mouth and cracked the loose tooth in half well he didn't know where the piece went that cracked off and he had to go to the dentist to get the other piece pulled. so that night we only left him two dollars and fifty cent. he was so disappointed in the morning, he wanted his five dollars but i told him the tooth fairy left that amount because it was only half a tooth. he was still disappointed and all he said was oh! lol

I got 25 cents for each tooth fifty-five years ago. When my son was little, fifteen years ago, I figured $2.50 per tooth was fair, given the rate of inflation and all that. So I suppose it should be up around $3 or so by now.

a dollar but when we told our son the tooth fairy would sneek in his room while he was sleeping and take his tooth HE FREAKED OUT he didnt want some weirdo with a tooth fetish sneaking into his room and taking his tooth. So we told him she want real and gave 10 dollars one for the tooth and 9 to keep his mouth shut and not tell the other kids.

I used to give 'tooth fairy' money. Currency that kids don't see in circulation much any longer. Fifty Cent pieces, Silver dollars, Two dollar bills, Susan B Anthony silver dollars, etc. Most banks of any size have some of these in their vault. If they are not on hand, ask them to get some for you or watch for some and save them for you.

First tooth got a dollar bill and a few coins. Looks like alot of money. Subsequent teeth get less. My son gets more excited about multiple quarters than bills.

My 6yr old just had her first fall out and she got 2 Sacajawea's from the tooth fairy. I asked her to put one in her bank, and I matched the other on whatever she wanted. so, in total, three dollars.
