well to start...a gas is a gas...not a liquid... but solids r opaqe because the moloqucles (SP?) r so close togther and moving so slowing that u can not c through it. which basically means it is a solid. i hope that made sense

Three reasons. Solids are hundreds of times denser than gases, so even coloured gases like iodine vapour and chlorine at atmospheric pressure aren't dense enough to absorb enough light to appear opaque. But at very high pressure they would be opaque. Secondly, some solids are opaque because faults in their crystal structure scatter light. Gases don't have any crystal structure. Thirdly, some solids are opaque because they conduct electricity; they're metallic and reflect light. Everything that's a gas at room temperature is non metallic. A good question.

uh what? i'll give this a shot, but this question doesn't make sense. a lot of solids are opaque because they are densely packed with colored stuff. liquids and gases are more dispersed so the color is harder to see in some cases.

The short answer is that
1. light is absorbed by interactions with electrons
2. solids have a higher density of electrons in general than gasses.
Therefore more light is absorbed by solids.
The full explanation would involve discussing QM of atoms and molecules in many body systems is far beyond the scope of this forum.

Boy are you confused??!! gases are liquid??? No, gases are gases and liquids are liquids!!!

Have you confused your translation??? From English into gibberish?!!

Are you asking why solids are generally opaque and gases are transparent or translucent?
