"Passion isn't a path through the woods. Passion IS the woods. It's the deepest, wildest part of the forest; the grove where the fairies still dance and obscene old vipers snooze in the boughs. Everybody but the most dried up and dysfunctional is drawn to the grove and enchanted by its mysteries, but then they just can't wait to call in the chain saws and bulldozers and replace it with a family-style restaurant or a new S and L."
passion is the fire and heat and love is the fuel and timber? looked at separately, passion is steamy and unpredictable (giddy and unbiddable like an exciting affair) and love is a steadier, bluer burn (like the love for family).
together they are the enchanted wood: mysterious and secret and wild. love unpredictable and brimming with the adventure of passion.

Hi Melanie, Passion is defined as an exhuberant emotion. Love is wonderful but more even. Passion is highest at the beginning of love but becomes less during the course of a relationship even though the love becomes stronger.
By the way, I checked out your accessories a few weeks ago and I really like them, as soon as I get back to work (am laid off art director hopefully back to work very soon), I'll order from you. I think they'll make an ideal and unique gift for my wife. Very creative & nice, very good niche', I'm impressed! And of course, nice legs too! LOL!

Passion: Can be applied to anything, you can have passion for your job or education. Passion in relationships implies that you have some type of strong interest in the person, falls in line with romance to a degree.
Love: Can be applied to almost anything, but generally applies to relationships more than anything. Love can be defined as a chemical imbalance, on the otherhand I have never heard of passion being coined that.
Hope that helps.

Passion and love go well together, but I would say that love is much stronger. Passion can fade away and if there isn't love when the passion fades there's nothing. Love is supposed to last.

Passion is an intense love of anything. Love is not always as intense, like love of a puppy. I'm passionate about learning and playing my guitars. I love my pet. Not the same thing.

I have passion for your legs but I don't love you! Love is a long term type of passion. Passion by itself is more spur of the moment to me.

I have always thought that passion referred to the fire down below. Love is the spark that lights that fire.
PineforestKim gave the best answer though! That's a perfect assessment!

Passion & Love both come from your heart, your head, and your tummy. That is what makes the two so very special & delicous.

Passion is related to self-gratification, as in "I need you, I need to see you, I want you, I will do anything..." Love is related to desiring the very best for the other person, no matter what the cost to you and your happiness.

Passion is something which is tangible that can be both felt and seen.
Love is something which binds to people together in a lifetime of pain and joy.
