I am a NASCAR fan and I was thrilled to see Matt win because he is in fact my fav racer. I think NASCAR is one of those sports that won't be accepted by other people because they're just mad that it is as popular as it is.

what exactly is nascar's appeal? in my twenties i raced sports cars on road tracks, you know those tracks where you had to be able to steer and turn in more than one direction? and change speed and gears frequently? and the course meandered through woods and streams, like a road in real life. and the twang of country- western was never heard, etc. well, tolerance is golden, so to each his/her own. btw do most nascar types also enjoy the monster truck presentations where they smash things, and the spectators screech in delight? do nascar people ever consider that beings on other worlds observe the people on this planet in just the same way as we here on earth view cartoons on tv?

I used to follow it a lot closer. Over the last 2 years, I haven't watched as much. Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver.

I can't stand racing. How boring! But one guy in the office is NUTS about NASCAR and has Jeff Gordon EVERYTHING all over his cubicle.
