Plug another phone in!.....Sometimes I wonder where the term "common sense" originated!

If you are with Rogers, then I am assuming that you have cable phone. The problem you have is that you are creating a direct short when that phone is rung. More than likely, when they put the connectors on, it shifted, so that you red/green is over one space. This is a fairly common trouble call that we in the industry usually get. I'd like to add that I doubt that you'll be able to fix this. You will need a tech. Schedule a trouble call and have some one come out. If they won't, then ask to talk to a supervisor. Don't threaten to 'sew' as that just makes you look rude. These people are providing you a service and usually they'll take care of it. I hope this helps!

edit: You changed your wall jack? I'd look over that first. But, personally, I think you better call them to fix it.

If your answering machine is in your home then you need to unplug that from the system and try a different phone. If you have an answering service provided for you off your premises then you will need to contact the service provider.

I think it's your phone itself.. check your volume whether it's turn down or muted.. if not, change your phone with another one to test whether it's ringing.. if another phone is ringing then you gotta change your phone to a new one.. good luck!

You need to threaten to sew your phone compony and maybe they will do something about it bt if you don't like that idea then keep on calling until they do something about it if you have any more questions i will be happy to answer them

Aren't you the person who just changed the wall socket for the phone? See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoFFsH0ac.u70GVPRQ_lMS_sy6IX?qid=20060820032551AArDhW8
Maybe that's where the reason is...?
