My current favorite is by Stephanie Laurens in Scandal's Bride (yup, a bodice-ripper!)

I like, "Maybe it's the little things in life that make us happy. It's not always the big things." It's from Sisterhood of the traveling pants. Bailey said it to Tibby when she was dying.

No matter how careful you are, you can end up pregnant. That is what sex is designed to do after all. So, never sleep with anyone who's mean or stupid, and ugly is a judgement call, because all three may breed true.

Merry Gentry said it in a Laurell K. Hamilton book.

"I was actually born in a 1989 Chevorlet Caprice on U.S. Highway One, my dad raceing up the eighteen-mile stretch from Key Largo to the mainland. He was trying to get my mother to the hospital in Homestead. She was lyeing in the backseat of the car, and thats where I was born. Mom did it all by herself-she didn't tell my dadto pull over because she didn't want him interfering. They still argue about this. He didn't even realize i was born untill we got to Flordia City and I started bawling."

"We are punished for our refusals. Every impulse that we strive to strangle broods in the mind, and poisons us. The body sins once, and has done with its sin, for action is a mode of purification. . . . Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful. It has been said that the great events of the world take place in the brain. It is in the brain, and the brain only, that the great sins of the world take place also."

Sorry this is a long and meaningful one

One of my many favorites is...
"People who cease to believe in God or goodness altogether still believe in the devil. I don't know why. No, I do indeed know why. Evil is always possible. And goodness is eternally difficult.” Ann Rice - Blood and Gold
