I am going into Middle School.
I really don't want to look geek-ish.
Don't tell me not to care about what other people think.
Just give me advice on how not to look dorky.
I have a uniform and dresscode.
It is very, extremely strict.
My hair is super, very, extremely hard to put back.
What should I do/change?

I can't wear anything other than a watch, a shirt, and shorts. Nothing else! Only that.

Obviously you cant change your clothes cause you have a dress code, right? Well, can you wear jewelry or spice up your uniform? I would add earrings and necklaces if you can. If your hair is hard to pull back, then don't. Wear it down. Or cut it. I would suggest getting a new haircut before you go back to school. A new haircut always makes you feel new and fresh. Since your going into, what, 7th grade? How about some mascara and some lip gloss. I don't think you need to wear more than that.
As far as your personality, just be yourself. People don't like it when you alter yourself to be something you are not. Maybe you could learn some new jokes and try to be funny to get in. Find out who the popular kids are and make friends with one of them. Then if they like you, chances are, their friends will too. Dont forget about nail polish either. Try crazy, funky colors. I would do whatever you can to be diffrent, to be noticeable...within boundries of the rules of your school. Good luck, Middle School will be fun for you.
You know what else, join clubs. After school stuff. Sports..like Volleyball or basketball. The popular kids are always doing those sports. Try cheerleading too.

Strict dress code? Been there and done that. Best way to bend the rules is ribbons, as colorful as you can make them. Use them as bracelets, headbands for your hair, shoelaces, belts or bands for a watch. They don't interfere with the dress code but distinguish you as an individual. Also. make sure you do one item as a ribbon, not all at the same time. You don't want to be labeled as the ribbon queen...

if ur hair is curly i would say maybe straighten it a few days and see what u think and if u like it and if ur a girl and ur hair is straight i would say get layers and a medium length hair cut but i no from friends that if u have short hair and ur hair is thick and curly a lot of times it would look better straight and if its longer a lot of times it looks cute if u just put a LITTLE gel or hair spray in ur hair to make it so that it would be loose but not frizzy and wild

trust me...be happy you have a uniform at your school. kids place too much into how you dress. when everyone has the same outfit, you can't judge. but i do agree about barettes or ribbons to make you more unique. a nice new haircut might be the answer. have a good year.

Well maybe you should make your hair thinner by adding layers and try styling your hair. It make actually work for you. Dont; be afraid of everything just talk to everyone and u will be fine. Dont act like a slut tho be your self

well since there are uniforms u don't have to worry about what to wear. unless it's jewlrey. you can put things in ur hair and wear earrings, necklaces, and bracelets to make ur uniform unique! in makeup ur on ur own. i don't know much about it but if u don't feel like putting any on or just don't wear any at all, but on some eyeliner. black or brown, whatever you want. hope i helped!

Maybe you can wear cool bracelets,necklaces, and earrings not too long if they allow it and maybe you can wear make up like nail polish that is clear pink, blush that matches your color a little and eye shadow that is the color light pink. you can put hair clips that you like on your hair. If you're a male, get a new short cut and few highlights and take good care of your skin. If you're a female, try a flat iron and some at home teeth whitening. :)

Maybe it is time for a professional hair cut and get a style done that is worthy to you. Just don't go into any beauty salon, get a professional to do it.

Is your hair curly, straight, thick, thin? Can you use barrettes or hair bands to pull the hair off of your face? Maybe a short haircut might help.
