I dont think many people who exactly who they are. Coming face to face with out immortality, weaknesses and vices is not easy to do. Many people shy away from it. Secondly I think unless you were to find yourself in thousands of unique situations its impoosible to know exactly what or who we are. Personally? I know enough to both like and dislike myself. Coming face to face with it however is difficult.

Who are any of us really? I go by half a dozen names, only one or two of them legal, the rest creations of convenience or amusement, like much of the rest of my life, so the name is not the thing. I act, working to help others or to please myself -- the two are not always dissimilar -- and occasionally perform actions that do neither, so function cannot be the full measure of the thing which acts. I could go on about this, but so far this is my conclusion: I am a creature of the Now, shadowed by Yesterday and illumined by an idea of Tomorrow, balanced by whim and defined by a tautology. Tuam tat asi.

Everybody is a living god once he leaves his mortal ego. But first of all he has to understand what mortal ego is. Go inside and see how many things you do just to satisfy ur ego and selfish desires when u eradicate them then a new identity comes to the fore. Only then u will realize that u arenot Babe but you are the part of that endless God. Before that u are simple human being nothing else.

While I have had much influence from others on my life I feel that I am unlike any other person alive. i know my identity, I know what I want, I know how I feel, I know myself. The things that have influenced me have only helped me become who I am. I don't live my life how others tell me too. I do not conform to easier ways of life. I will do what I want to do not what others tell me is best for me. I can choose for myself. I choose to not believe in a higher power because I have the power to choose. I am unique. I am me.

We cannot know who we are in every situation, until we have been in that situation. Case in point - most people would not steal, yet, if their children were starving, they would steal to feed their children.

It is thru experience that we learn who we are.

In addition, I do not think we truly know who we are until the day we die - as we live, we change, we grow, and who I was today, I am not tomorrow.

I am who I am, I think I am this person, but I don't know that I am. I think I am, so I assume I must be... But, am I right about what I think or is it simply only a thought?

"Knowing yourself" is a personal journey, not just a set of yes and no questions. You can play "what if" all day long for years, but until you actually confront a situation head on, you can't be truly sure.

Great Question. I think I know but what I think is different to what others think so I have no reliable feedback.
