I have tried mixing crushed red pepper flakes in the seed ," squirrel chasers" that are nothing but moth balls and human hair, and obstacles around the feeders. The squirrel chasers actuallt attracted them. Appreciate any ideas !!

if your feeders are on poles, what my mom used to do was spray the poles a couple of times a week with wd40, and the ones she had hanging in trees, she would put a hole in the center of a frisbee, just big enough for the wire/cord/hook to go thrum the squirrels would be able to get on top of the frisbee, but wouldnt be able to reach the feeder, as for the wd40, it just greased to pole and made it slick so they couldnt climb

There are feeders that have a counter weight that closes a door on the feeder. You can adjust the weight so when a bird(s) land to feed it stays open. But when a squirrel gets on the perch to feed, it's weight will cause the door to close. But squirrels are smart! I saw a video of two squirrels working together. One would stand on the counter weight while the other would feed. Good luck.

Pepper. Birds haven't any saliva glands, so it received't worry or damage them. even with the undeniable fact that it is going to offer squirrels a case of the sneezes. My chicken feeder is fixed on a pole. I spray the pole with Pam. this is hilarious to ensure the squirrels attempt to climb it. they offer the effect of being like little squirrel firemen sliding down the pole.

Yes tucker, I do have an idea. I feed birds, ducks, deer, hummingbirds, and everything else that finds it way into my yard. I find it easier to just accept the fact that they have to eat too and put out enough food for all. My whole yard is a banquet for animals. even the pesky squirrels.
But that bear on the other hand........
