I am not an American and I don't live in "America".

It is true that the world is hating "America" more and more. But not because of the government only. Because also of some stupid common Americans as you can see in the answers above: "What would be the world without us?", "They envy us". I get very angry with that kind of answers because they are not true. Of course the world don't needs U.S.A. And I honestly, honestly, don't envy USA. If I could choose, I would not live in USA. The simple fact that you call yourselfs "America" irritate us, because for us America is the name of the continent. Just don't be so nationalist and the attitude of the world towards you will get better, OK?

With the demise of the USSR, The US is the only major superpower in place. The world sees the US now as "Empire building " and taking the role previously held by Russia. However the "EU" & "China" are very quickly rising to become major powers. The US will, as Lincoln predicted, implode, much the same as the USSR. The US is exporting the majority of it's middle income jobs, mainly to China, building China's economy while eating away at the major tax base in the US.
#1- The wealthy will make a fortune with this scenerio but they will destroy the middle class.
#2- This admins. war in Iraq is costing the American tax payers, billions.
#3- As for "The war on Terror", like "The War on Drugs" is a lost cause. Bin Laden said he will bankrupt the US as he did the USSR. All he has to do is get some wingnut to blow himself up or make a video tape & Homeland Security swings into action, costing billions more.
Never forget FDRs warning," There is nothing to fear, but fear itself."

Of course the world is starting to hate us. The reality is that much of it is desired, but several positive factors are ignored.

In comparison to dominant civilizations of the past, such as Great Briton with their brutal colonization policies, or the Roman Empire we aren't that bad. America is the most diverse nation in the world. Every country that hates us has a sizable population living in America. With the exception of the guys who were in North America when we got there we haven't force America on anyone. In the historic British and Roman empires we find aggressive expansionists, constantly advancing their borders on the unwilling.

America does meddle a hell of alot in the affairs of other nations, and screws up at least one country every five years or so, and our current president honestly believes he has been playing RISK for the past six years, but our humanitarian efforts (while someone pathetic compared to various European and Asian countries, are unrivaled in the context of globally dominant empires.

I have to acknowledge this may just be a severally prejudiced commentary.

America is the world super power and since we are at the top of the mountain; other countries are intimidated by us. I am not sure of where you are from but if you hate America why? Has America helped your country or hurt it?

To be honest I think most people in the US would like to just stay out of the worlds problems and isolate themselves from everyone else but what would that mean to you?

When a great problem in the world comes into play the world screams for our help but who can we count on to help us when we have a problem.

I actually don't spend a lot of time worrying about it. They may hate us, but if they do they still need us. If for no other reason then to buy their stuff. I think the World is rude not to treat America like the customer it is.

You may say it's about Middle East policy, but it is not. The World complained and carried on about the US before that. They basically complained that the hugest portion of UN costs paid for by the US was not enough. They complained that the US let poverty occur in Africa. It wasn't doing enough for Aids. It's easier to blame the US than worry about having to pay more yourself.

If you are an "American," than you should know that there is no "k" in it. The world only hates us until there's a natural disaster or some other tragedy that they need our help with and our billions of dollars in aid. Then suddenly their our new best friend. Who cares if they hate us? Unlike, say, France, we keep our word and we still help out.

Poll the ones that "say "they hate America, give them the opportunity to move their family here then the only thing they would complain about is taxes and traffic.

i disagree with almost everything my country has done in the past 8-10 years, but i must say, can you expect any intelligent responses which such a loaded question?

if you're pretending to engage in debate, spell the damn name right, otherwise you're just playing into the hands of hatred, the very same thing you dislike americans for, no?

Listen comrade our unemployment is not nearly as high as yours we pay less taxes than you do we make most of the scientific discoveries, and we grow most of the worlds food which we give lots of it away to poor countries if it was not for Ronald Regan you would be standing in line for stale bread and bitching about it in Russian
