It's a manufactured 'reality'... the people and their reactions to situations are real, but the situation is contrived by TV producers. TV cameras are part and parcel of that contrivance

Cause its a show. The cameramen arent allowed to interact with the cast.

because it would not be able to be on TV if the cameras weren't there, it's fake.

My guess is that they can not leave them abandoned and the show needs an audience.
