It's been growing great, but started losing it's leaves. Incidentally, we came into some money from an insurance settlement from a flood! The tree started losing the leaves soon after that.

Maybe the Money Tree (aka Pachnia Aquatica) got flooded a little too. It either got too much water, or now is it doesn't have enough......check out the soil conditions, also having the soil tested for pH and acid levels would be a good idea too.
Also, a plant called, Lunaria, has seed pods that look like silver dollars when dried. It is also called a Money tree. Having both around would make "Dollars and Cents" LOL

Check the source of water. If the water table is depeleted, then the tree starts shedding leaves. You must start watering this tree regularly till such time it stops losing its leaves. Now that you have got your insurance settlement, start saving some money for a rainy day.
