I notice if your point is contentious and mentions anything to do with racial discrimination, support for the underdog, e.g Iraq, Lebanon, Outing Government conspiracies like 9/11 or the Patriot Act, there is a steady stream of abuse levelled at the questioner. NEVER any factual rebuttals, just Insults.

because a lot of work is done to hide that truth, governments rely on "good old" citizens to attempt to publically humiliate those willing to stand up and ask, for example, how israel's treatment of the palestinians is different from the white treatment of blacks in apartheid ruled south africa?
failing the response from good citizens, the government has a crisis on their hands. watch and see, i bet you get lots of fun answers to this question, i bet you get more insults than rebuttals too. $100, who wants to take this bet?

I've never targeted anyone for stating an 'incomfortable truth'.
I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that it may be more the manner, grammar, and spelling in the posts that get them little validation rather than the point they had trouble making.

Because raising uncomfortable truths is the one universal capital crime no matter what the culture, religion or region. Basically never piss off the powers that be or you'll be shorter by a head. They don't like uncomfortable truths and they make sure the the population they rule don't like them either. Remember Socrates.

Except for the fact that it happens to both conservatives and liberals, you hit it right on the head, thats why i don't like the little rating system with the thumbs that is supposed to measure how much the comment or question "contributes to the answers community" because people just click thumbs down on answers (even if well reasoned and articulate) they don't agree with or aren't comfortable accepting.

Okay man, where are you from? If your from the U.S.A., your either a conspiracy theorist, or a terrorist. If you aren't from the U.S., you could only be from a country like Iran or southern Lebanon, supporting Hezbollah and Hamas and the whatnot.

Because it makes them incomfortable. I like to be comfortable, never incomfortable. Unless I'm incomfortable shoes.

Thats because some people are unable to think beyond propaganda and can only parrot what the media says. Others, obviously are hateful and irrational and still others are in denial.

One gets tired of the same lies told by the same 'Askers'. Your so-called 'truths' are nothing but the feverish hallucinations of someone who's ganja has gone waaaaaaaay past it's expiration date.

because for some people it is easier to spew out hatred than to have an honest debate or argument, "the truth shall set you free" beware of those afraid of the truth

Excellent question.
Answer: They (mainly bush supporting republicans) envy and are quick to label the free minded as idiots.
They do not have the facts to engage in proper dialog, other then resort to name calling and usual mind boggling rhetoric.
It's curiosity which has set us apart from the other species on this planet, and if we starve it, we will be nothing more then sheep being lead to slaughter.
