Are you using them when you have a light flow? If so, they do hurt when you take them out. Are you pulling them out at the same angle that you inserted them? If not, it will hurt when removing the tampon. A tampon is just like a cotton ball that absorbs moisture. If there isn't any discharge for it, it will take moisture from the inside of your vagina and will cling to the surface. If you don't believe me, take a cotton ball and rub it across your gums.

Use the LOWEST absorbancy possible. If most of the tampon is still dry, this will create friction and indicate that you are using more absorbancy than you need. Make sure you are relaxed. You may have to get in more of a squatting position than your toilet allows. Try squatting on the floor.
Don't leave it in longer than recommended on the package. You risk disease this way... the name escapes me at the moment, but the risks are listed on the package and on the package insert.

My guess is that you're having vaginal dryness and it's pulling at the skin when you remove it.
Call and ask your dr, or at least talk to his/her nurse. They can offer you better suggestions as to what might be going on.
Don't forget, there are other devices other than a tampon that insert. Ask the nurse. I can't remember the name but it's a small cup that fits against the cervix, not a diaphram, but a lot like it. It's used during periods.

I don't know what brand you are using but could be that they are to big for you, try using with less absorbency, and changing them often. Also try to alternate between pads at night and tampons during the day. that happened to me when I first starting to use them so I changed them to another brand with less absorbency. (I use tampons pearls, they are really good)

maybe ur not leaving them in long enough for them to expand fully. i had the same problem the first couple times i used a tampon, it hurt but not like ur explaining it. try using the lowest absorbency and leaving it in longer.

Dear Annie,
maybe your vaginal discharge is way to thick or maybe you just need to take 2 capsules of fish oil and primrose oil per day for the next 2-3 months and wait for results... If it does work, keep taking it for the rest of your life, it can't make any damage to your well being.
It's all natural !!!

are you using the right size? If you are not flowing heavy use a regular, if you are flowing heavy use a super. You could also ask your doctor the next time you are there. good luck

that does sound strange, cuz in my experience, they're easier to take out than put in. maybe you're using an uneccesary size, like super instead of teen or mild?
