The umpires (rightly or wrongly) enforced the guidelines in accordance to the guidelines of cricket. Any attempt to proceed play the next day could have severe repercussions, and could mean that any team, while they sense complicated achieved by, will merely stay interior the dressing room. Darryl Hair is an exceedingly tough and arranged character yet you may;t help feeling Dickie chook (rather the superb umpire ever) ought to have dealt with issues in a no longer distinctive way - if Pakistant won't come out and resume the sport, they lose - then cope with the outcomes later. he's no longer possibly a worry maker - Murali's action is, and continually has been, suspect - yet especially by using a actual deformity which prevents him totally extending his arm. And why is the award of 5 runs to England an even bigger deal than giving Strauss lbw out to a ball that develop into lacking the stumps and pitching exterior the line??? I;d faster have the 5 runs knocked off and Strauss decrease back in...

Should Andrew Strauss sue him for giving him out when he wasn't? It's all down to the umpire's judgement. Also absence of evidence is NOT evidence of absence.... he took the decision based on the state of the ball. Also they would have to sue both umpires, not just Hair. I suspect if they did they'd be ejected from the ICC - sport has its own laws and they govern (with the support/assent of common law) the actions taken by those within the sport. It is very very rare, and usually only cases of either personal injury or where there is solid evidence that an injustice has been carried out. Anyway, if they sued, Pakistan would, in such a case, have to prove entirely they did NOT interfere with the ball (and the lack of evidence of the contrary on the cameras does not constitute solid evidence). That would be hellishly difficult to prove.

Should someone who had travelled up to London from some provincial town the day before - spending £100 on a train fare and another £100 on a hotel for the night - only to find out that his ticket for the 5th day was worthless, sue the PCB and Inzy for the expenses he can't recover?

yes of course
Pakistan should register a complain against D hair. and never accept him as umpire in their matches since he has not provided any evidence of ball tempering and showed his reserved attitude against Pakistan. he should produce evidence or beg pardon from Inzamam and Pakistan and resign from elite penal.

Let's face it, if every team that ever got one of the disgusting joke decisions by a Pakistani umpire in the past had done this, how many test matches would ever have been finished there ? What goes around ...
