One beer might, but it's said that too much alcohol disrupts your sleep. As gross as it sounds, you may want to try some warm milk. If you can't get to sleep, don't force the issue- get up and do something relaxing, like reading, until you feel sleepy. You may want to extend your bedtime a little and sacrifice some sleep- I think that fewer hours of good sleep is better than more hours of tossing and turning.

Nah, it's a myth that alcohol and caffeine counter-act each other.
Just tough it out and know better not to drink caffeine so late in the day next time.
