Ur, at the beginning of civilization, when humanity still had some freedom. Now we can't even think about going far away and make our own lives. All the land belongs to someone, there are almost no places where to hunt, the fruits only grow in farms...

It's too difficult to be free now, and it's getting worst.

In ancient times I would have been free for getting in and out of civilization. Going to the country and living by hunting and then returning to the city-state to make friends, study, write or sing poems, etc.

At the present time I feel the civilization hates me, but I have no place to go. So I have only two options, to be alienated (to forget my own identity and be as they want) or to die. I am trying to be alienated, but it isn't easy.

I'd live the best years of my life during the 20's, supposing i could know what i know now. So i could amass wealth and keep it through the depression. I really think the 40's were cool, minus the world war.

Now - I couldn't imagine life as a woman without the right to vote, study, work, and not be someone's wife. And I'd live no place but New York.

I would choose now. I have multiple sclerosis. There has been much progress made in how to treat the disease in the last 21 years (i.e. since I got MS). I wouldn't want to go back to a time prior to that.
