This is an interesting question...it made me think!
Do you mean, do people who know me pass me on the street? If so, only once - one of my best friends did, after I had a change of hairstyle. I loved it!!
Are you a famous person? Because that's one way I understand this question - to be "known" because you are a famous personality, must be a pain if you want some privacy, but useful if you want to book a table at a famous restaurant!
I'm not famous (well, only to my family) and people I know do spot me quite easily (sometimes I wish they wouldn't!) If you are an attractive female, it is virtually impossible to avoid the glances of men who think they know who you are....their next conquest, even if only in fantasy...
As a women gets older, (say around 50,) they say she becomes more invisible, which is probably a mixed blessing.
I'm more likely to be the one who passes people on the street because I am often in a world of my own!

You mean, like waking past you - because they are traveling faster?
Yes of course - that happens to everyone in a city dozens of times a day.
