i use mysace to see how much the people who call themselves my friend, actually want to talk to me. other than that, it is probably the best place on the internet for bands and musical artists, because big name stars and a small garage rock band have the same tools at their disposal to get the public to hear their music. it is a really nice thing that bands can let people download some of their songs for free. other than that it great for musicians to get in touch with other musicians in their area, as well as music teachers to get into contact with people who want lessons.
it is a great community to get in touch, onlineor offline, with people who share your interests. i like their groups, so i can get in touch with other writers and artists, the writer part is more important because peer editing, further grammer checking, and critiqueing are such important parts off writing.
i wont gewt into the social aspects of it as to im sure you already know about that, and others are telling you about them, and i knwo about it, i just dont have many real friends, especialy ojnes who use or have the interweb.
i hope my contributions are apreciated, and if not, i wont know that, so ill still feel good.
good luck on your paper. hope you get the grade you are aiming for or higher.

I use the Myspace.com to talk to people who have some of the same interests as I do. Also, some people have a link up to a video or song that I want to add as a favorite of mine. It doesn't really impact my life. It's just something I do for fun.

I am 34 years old and I use Myspace to communicate with my ex-girlfriends family in the town we used to live in together for 10 years. For a while I just played online pranks and make fun of them but Myspace started to delete my profile and warn me I'd get a harassment suit filed so I had to quit that. Then recently some of the younger kids now over 18 who liked me better than the older teens before started popping up, so I added some of them, but every time I ask them a question like how's it going or how's everyone, they don't want to respond. They keep telling me to stop by or call, but won't send me a f'ing message on-line. Bah, it's been too long, so I closed the account after I had five of them on my friends list and none of them answering my harmless friendly questions. Embarrassing. I hate finding people online because they either say they don't remember or just get mad when I want to talk about the past. Ever hear of "closure?" But I've given all that up now. I still don't have any friends, myspace or in real life. You can't meet people online because if that's all you ever do, what are you going to do together. I need to get out and do my hobbies.

MySpace is a social networking website based in West Hollywood, California offering an interactive, user-submitted network of blogs, profiles, groups, photos, MP3s, videos and an internal e-mail system. According to Alexa Internet, as of August 2006, it is the world's fourth most popular English-language website and the seventh most popular in any language[1]. It is the most popular site in the United States, accounting for 4.5% of all website visits[2] (note it is possible that other sites have a greater number of unique visitors). MySpace has gradually gained more popularity than similar sites such as Facebook, Bebo, Friendster, Xanga, MyYearbook, FriendsReunited.co.uk, Classmates.com and LiveJournal to achieve 80 percent of visits to online social networking websites[2]. It has become an increasingly influential part of contemporary pop culture, especially in the Anglosphere. MySpace has 300 employees, is owned by Newscorp, and does not disclose revenues or profits. MySpace currently reports just over 100 million members, with the 100,000,000th member signing up on August 9, 2006. The website also attracts 500,000 new members each week.
The creators of MySpace have hosted many parties in Hollywood, San Diego, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, New York City, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Hawaii, and McAllen, Texas to support the site. The headquarters is in Los Angeles, but the parent company is headquartered in New York City.
MySpace is also home to various independent musicians, independent filmmakers and up and coming comedians who upload songs, short films and other work directly onto their profile. These songs and films can also be embedded in other profiles, an interconnectedness which adds to MySpace's appeal for musicians, filmmakers and comedians alike. Because of the high popularity, mainstream musicians filmmakers and comedians alike have continued this trend as well.

well I'm going to answer your question to the best of my ability...my space is place to meet new friends and get in contact with your old friends...the features that i use the most is my message my box and the friend request box...now you can except anyone that you want to be your friend and if they look ugly or seem weird to you, you can deny them.now the impact it can have on most people life is the fact that maybe you can never bet bored, you can always make new friends and you can keep in contact with friends and even family, so the basically it takes your friendship status to a whole new level well I'm not sure if this answered your question at all but it was the best i can do.
