Why are teens mistreated, i think there are some rude people in this world, these teens that come on here are asking for help not to be put down, in a nother place. Teenagers live hard lives just as well as adults. everyone was a teenager once and got to live there lives. so let them live there own.

I still think that adults need to give teens a chance, maybe they dont do the right things some times but you need to treat them with respect, just like you would want to be respected. I'am an adult but i feel sorry for teenagers who grow up in this day and age i just dont think they get enough respect. That is true most adults arent as grown up as they think they are.

Amosun- you must of had it easy growing up, you must of been one of the lucky teenagers. Just because you had a good life doesnt mean, everyone else has.

I'm glad you posted that and I completely agree. Teenagers are our future adults and I personally feel like it's very important for them to ask questions and have them answered without being made to feel stupid. We all had to find out things from somewhere and being a teenager is difficult. I think it's the adults on here who need to grow up a little!

"Adults" seem to forget how hard it is to be young and to be faced with obstacles. It isn't the teens fault alone that they mess up. It is also the influences (i.e. media, .peer pressure, bad home environment, etc.) Teens learn it from somewhere. Heck, some adults still haven't grown up and learned from their mistakes. Adults however, do have more responsibitly in some cases.
Just because you are teen doesn't make you any less of a person than someone older in their years. Teens are the future and I think we adults, should take into consideration that you all are still learning. Just like we did/are. Overlook comments, that degrade your youth.
One day, I am going to be a youth counselor. I know what it is like to have a hard teenage life.

i think all that is untrue. I was a teenager just four years ago, and i knew i had a nice life. I knew if i were respectful towards others i would be respected, but i also knew i wasnt an adult and i had no business acting like i was, or expecting to be treated like one.
Teenagers dont have it hard in these days, they have is suprisingly easy, they just make it hard for themselves by trying to be popular and over loading themselves with social obligations.
The sad diservice is, and what i saw in all of my peers as a teen, is that children and teenagers are not taught how to strive for something, how to work to get something. They expect to be treated like honerable adults and have things before them that are easy to reach.
Real life requires common sense and the realization that you can never know as much as the person who teaches you, or your elders. Something most teenagers dont realize.
So no, i dont feel sorry for them, any more than i felt sorry for myself or my peers. We were children, and we thought and reasoned like children and if it werent for the adults in our lives knocking some sense into us we'd get no where.

I am 14 years old. I have been told many times that I am mature for my age. I act more like an adult than my parents do sometimes. Even though they say I am mature they still treat me like a child. Especially my dad. I don't know why they do it. I guess they still see us as enexperienced. But what some adults don't realize is that some teens have as much experience as they do. They just don't want to deal with it.

Not a problem toots but when you start asking for advise on things like abortion, birth control, should I or shouldn't I well what do you expect?
Yep we were teens too and we didn't ask this of complete strangers, we went to friends and the girls who wanted sex went to planned parenthood and got the pill. At least we took responsibility for our actions and did not immediately say *oh, I don't want this, I will kill it*.
If you have legitimate things to ask or discuss we will all be more than willing to help out.

I was a teenager at one time, and I made alot of mistakes against my family's wishes, If Id of listen to the adult authorities in my life instaed of being Miss Know it all Id of been alot better in life. Now Im a mother and I respect my kids, but if they are going to go against my wishes like I dont want them having sex and messing up there future, I dont want them getting hooked on drugs or drinking, and they decided to go against my wishes the they have to be responsible for their actions. We as parents tell you things because we love you and dont want to see you suffer but if you go against all that what are we suppose to do??

I agree with you. Well, I'm an adult, but people treat me like I'm 3. My friend says that everyone has the right to deserve a 2nd chance.
