One of my guy friends asked me for tips on what to wear with pin stripe pants. He wears them both to work and casually. His pants are black with gray pin stripes - any ideas?
I'm looking for any tips for him concerning types of shirts, jumpers, jackets, shoes etc. as well as colors. :)

i would go for a solid colored shirt, maybe in a light blue or green...or even a grey similar to the shade on his pants! that'd be fun :]
don't try to mix two patterns together, won't end up well.
when it comes to a jacket, tell him to look for a black one that won't look completely mis-matched.

Tell him to wear a solid color shirt. One to match the pin stripes would be nice. Don't wear any patterns other than the pants because it will clash.

A bright red shirt with those pants would look good and make a statement!
Jacket: Long, black
Shoes: Dressier ones
Colors: Black, red, gray, a normal blue/not too dark

Very good question and I have the answer....I have a pin stripe suit...wore to my dad's funeral a few months ago.....I wore a solid black button down shirt with the pants and if he needs a tie....go for a black tie with small white polka dots.....it will pop against the solid color of the shirt and the pin stripes....not big polka dots...small....preferably silk tie....actually I got the whole ensamble at Target and I looked like a million bucks....i also like black shirt with any red tie, very classy, and retro.....tell him good luck.....nice question....

red, blue, white, and greens or browns would work. long sleeve button shirt, ironed. try to find a black jacket that also has gray pin stripes or even a simple black jacket would work. even a gray jacket. Black shoes, loafers.

a pin stripe jacket. a white collar shirt. a tie that is one main color nothing too bright (i have a burgundy tie that i find to be quite nice). darker ties are good with a white shirt.
black dress shoes. pick something you like. just nothing silly.

Gray or brilliant white shirt, black shoes.
Lavendar.
Powder blue.
Jacket should match the pants.

A solid white or a solid blue shirt would go good with pinstripe pants.

Solid color especially a white crisp button up. And you can't forget the shiny polished black shoes.

You should buy a cute black vest to go with it and under it buy a white shirt and you should look at Nordstom,or Macys.They should have it.
