I can whole-heartedly say yes. I have two friends that are beyond what any others could every be. Each being special in their own way, but almost like second fathers to me. But, when it came down to it, I could choose a best friend.

I believe there is such a thing as a good friend, but a best friend? I am definently against the idea that there is such a thing as a best friend because there is too much drama out there that gets in the way and some people are way too self-centered and careless to others.

i think there are people out there who think they are best friends but when it comes down to it,,no such thing

I don't think I could pick a "best" out of my friends. I don't have a ton of them, but the ones I do have are so amazing.
I have about a gazillion 'acquaintances', but as far as true "best" friends---well, that's limited to my Lego, my son, & my parents.
I think we all have sides to us that we don't share w/ everyone--just w/ people who we feel can understand. My loved ones pretty much all know all parts of me: the good, the bad, & the ugly! LOL!!! But there are certain things I share w/ one that I may not share w/ another.The combination of my dearest friends, & the parts of me I can share w/ them, well, that's what makes me "whole".
I know that makes no sense....wish I could explain it better. But anyway....like I said:

Yes there is . A best friend is someone you can share your every little secret with , someone who is willing to listen to you when you have a problem and stays by your side no matter what .

no. everyone is a 'good' friend but no one is a 'best' friend. Best friends always find a way to cheat on you. trust me. i know. that happened to me.i thought i had a best friend but i lost her so right now i have many good friends.
