What is it that makes people who hate either Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, or Tony Stewart use words like 'gay' or 'redneck' in their posts rather than just saying 'I hate so-and-so'? Is it that bashers get vicarious thrills getting their fans p*ssed off?

Okay the first person who answered REALLY needs to grow up!
Those people are just really immature & need to grow up! Junior is my favorite driver (1st & 6th this weekend!) Tony is okay & I don't like Jeff Gordon. But I don't go around talking bad about Jeff. I don't hate any of the drivers either. How can someone hate a person that they don't even know? I don't see why so many people hate Junior. Junior has to be one of the cleanest and nicest drivers in NASCAR. He doesn't race dirty (what happened yesterday in Busch wasn't his fault). Some people just like to make a certain group of fans mad. There's a few people on this site that like to annoy the Junior fans & I just ignore them. There are other people who trash talk other drivers, too. Just ignore them, they are the immature people.

We have cute nicknames for the drivers we don't like- none of them are gay- Like Kurt busch- He is either Dirt Busch or Elfman or last year when he drove for Rubbermaid he was Rubber Head- Smoke is Phony Baloney Tony- Mark Martin- we don't hate him- but we call him Lost his Spark Mark- it was funnier in the Viagra car(the announcers said "it looks like Mark Lost his Spark" - Jr- we call him Boozer the Loser, or hose bag- We call Biffle Bug eyed Freak I could go on but you get the point.

you know... no one REALLY knows any of the drivers. (unless you really know them personally) i base my opinions on how they act outside of nascar. Like on talk shows. Driver appearences. interviews. i dont jump on the hate band wagon because everyone else thinks so and so is a homo. For example: I think martin truex jr. is a jerk because he personally treated me bad. I stood in line 4 hours to see him. There was this cute blonde waiting in line before me. when she got up to him, she asked for an autograph, and he was all smiles with her. Then she asks him for a picture, he was like "sure" There was a table in front of him where he was signing on. She went around the table and sat in his lap and took the picture. I brought my own picture for him to sign. Now, mind you. I am not a pretty blonde like this girl was. But, i asked him if i could take a picture with him. His security guard yells at me. "stay in front of the table!" and martin says not a word. And i have to bend over the table to get a pic with him.
I was like. WTF! so, thats the reason i dont like him. i've met mickey waltrip. he's a nice guy. i met ryan newman. also, a nice guy.
dont judge people til you actually meet them

Good question. I always refer to the Busch brothers as "the weasels" and Jeff Gordon as a "pee pee puffer" and I am not sure why. Maybe because the description is accurate.

that's the best way to express the feeling for certain drivers you don't like.
Like myself I have a special name for each one of the drivers I don't like( sometimes is either their name on Spanish or other way)
I don't really like to tell any driver if their are gay or other stuff, because there humans & I believe that their family don't like to see things like that of these guys.
I respect each one of them & I try to keep their nicknames for myself.
well, the only driver I hate the most is Greg Biffle for him I don't have any respect.
