Hablo Espanol ? If you are planning to move I would strongly recommend that you visit first and stay for a while. Mexico is not the US. Escondido is a nice place but not much of a contemporary community.
Puerto Vallarta may be another recomendation.
Life in Mexico is not that easy. You really need to fairly savy.
There are " communities " in Mexico with retired Americans that makes life easier.

I have been to Pt. Escondido many times over the years, it is good place to beat the crowds. Small, has everything you need. Good food, beach, fishing and inexpensive ,but hot. Yes it's good.

I hope you plan to visit along with a number of other places before getting too excited. Lots of options. If you now live in Florida - you may be prepared for the coastal summer heat and humidity - for example.

It's a pretty laid back, sleepy but energetic small town. Nice to retire if you like being away from everything.
